DescriptionFeaturesData SheetDocumentation

Versa-Matic E2-2″ High Pressure AODD Pump

The Versa-Matic E2 2″ (51 mm) High Pressure air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump is a metallic 2:1 pump designed for demanding applications where higher discharge pressure and substantial fluid-transfer capacity are required.

With a maximum flow rate of 92 gpm (348 lpm) and discharge pressure capability up to 232 psi (16 bar), the E2 High Pressure pump is suited to filter press feed, long piping runs, viscous fluids, high-specific-gravity liquids and high-head transfer systems.

Aluminum or stainless steel wetted constructions are available together with multiple diaphragm and check-valve material options. Its rugged bolted construction, self-priming operation and restart-on-demand capability support reliable service in demanding industrial processes.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 2:1 high-pressure pumping design
  • Maximum discharge pressure up to 232 psi (16 bar)
  • Maximum flow rate up to 92 gpm (348 lpm)
  • Self-priming and end-ported configuration
  • Rugged bolted construction for reliable fluid containment
  • Safely deadheads against a closed discharge without pump damage
  • Restarts on demand when the discharge condition changes
  • Serviceable pneumatic air-valve system
  • Stainless steel air valve supplied as standard
  • Aluminum or stainless steel wetted construction available
  • NPT and BSPT threaded porting options
  • Multiple diaphragm and check-valve materials available
  • ATEX-approved models for applicable hazardous-area installations

How the 2:1 High Pressure Design Works

The E2 High Pressure pump incorporates two additional air chambers and an additional air-side driver diaphragm. This increases the effective surface area on which compressed air acts and magnifies the force transferred through the fluid diaphragms.

This design allows the pump to produce discharge pressure approaching twice the supplied air pressure, enabling it to overcome greater downstream resistance than a conventional 1:1 AODD pump.

Materials & Configuration Options

Wetted Construction Aluminum or Stainless Steel
Center Section Aluminum
Valve Seats Stainless Steel
Diaphragm Options Neoprene, Nitrile/Buna, Santoprene or PTFE depending on configuration
Check Valve Options Weighted elastomeric or solid PTFE check balls depending on application requirements
Construction Design Bolted Metallic High Pressure

Final wetted-material, diaphragm and check-valve selection should be confirmed against the process fluid, concentration, temperature, viscosity, solids characteristics and operating conditions.

The 232 psi value refers to maximum discharge pressure capability. Maximum compressed-air operating pressure is 116 psi (8 bar). Published performance values are based on manufacturer test conditions and may vary depending on diaphragm material, suction conditions, fluid properties and hydraulic conditions.

Typical Applications

  • Filter press feed systems
  • High-head fluid transfer
  • Long-distance fluid transfer
  • Viscous and high-specific-gravity fluids
  • Slurry transfer
  • Mining and dewatering duties
  • Chemical and process-fluid transfer
  • Paints and coatings
  • Ceramic slip and glaze transfer
  • Pressurized process-line transfer
  • Industrial applications requiring higher discharge pressure

When to Choose the E2 High Pressure Pump

The E2 High Pressure pump is suitable when a conventional 1:1 AODD pump cannot overcome the required downstream pressure. Compared with the 1″ E1 High Pressure model, the 2″ E2 provides greater flow capacity for applications where both increased pressure and higher fluid-transfer volume are important.

ATEX Configuration

E2 High Pressure models are available with ATEX approval for applicable hazardous-area installations. Pumps and connected equipment must be correctly installed, bonded and grounded according to the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable site requirements.
