Vortex PS Radial Eductor for efficient tank mixing, offering superior fluid shear and agitation, ideal for industrial and irregular tanks.Vortex PS Radial Eductor

Alfa Laval Vortex PS Radial Eductor for High-Performance Tank Mixing. It is ideal for challenging tank mixing jobs, such as working with irregularly shaped tanks with varying fluid shearing requirements or when the liquids have a high solids concentration.

Vortex PS Radial Eductor Applications

Alfa Laval Vortex PS Radial Eductor is a high performance tank mixing educer that can handle unevenly shaped tanks, fluid shearing, and high solids contents. It is designed to operate under harsh situations. Chemical mixing, reactor tanks, and blending are all uses that Vortex Radial Eductors are suitable for. PS Radial Eductors are commonly used in industries such as mining, construction material manufacturing, chemical processing, and oil and gas drilling fluid mixing.

Benefits

  • Compact design
  • Low-cost alternative to mechanical paddle agitators
  • Simple and sturdy design
  • No moving parts
  • Little maintenance
  • Dynamic fluid shear
  • Improves responsiveness
  • Fully homogeneous tank fluid mix

When fluid is pushed into the Alfa Laval Vortex PS Radial Eductor intake, pressure builds up at the nozzle. When the fluid velocity at the nozzle rises, the pressure drops and a forceful vacuum is created, drawing surrounding fluid into the eductor body via its six peripheral suction ports. The nozzle in the eductor’s Venturi throat dynamically shears the converging fluid streams before releasing them into the tank as a high-energy plume.

Standard Design

The Alfa Laval Vortex PS Radial Eductor is a unique design that features a proprietary Lobestar Mixing Nozzle® constructed from high-density polyurethane to ensure durability. The male NPT connector is constructed from stainless steel and has a length of 76 mm (3 inches). Typically, a manifold within a tank is equipped with one or more eductors. The quantity of eductors required is contingent upon the type of vessel and the rate of agitation/turnover.

How does an Vortex PS Radial Eductor work?

The PS Radial Eductor’s input is supplied with fluid, which generates pressure at the orifice. The pressure decrease and powerful vacuum generated by the nozzle increase fluid velocity, which is then drawn into the eductor body through six suction ports. The eductor’s venturi throat nozzle dynamically shears converging fluid streams, causing a high-energy plume to be expelled into the tank.
The PS Radial Eductor is appropriate for any application that necessitates a centrifugal pump to manage the motive fluid.
