TRI-CLOVER 62-174/326 Air Blow Check Valve in Hygienic CIP Air Line

DescriptionFeaturesDetailsDocumentation

TRI-CLOVER 62-174/326 Air Blow Check Valve

Air blow check valves protect pipelines against corrosion by air-drying the line. Air-drying causes a protective oxide film to form, and this film is the key to placing a system in its most corrosion-resistant condition.

ABS offers the Tri-Clover® 62-174/326 air blow check valve from Alfa Laval. These valves are designed to evacuate lines of product or clean-in-place (CIP) solution, and they are also used for air agitation of product in tanks and other vessels to thoroughly mix and blend the product. The Tri-Clamp®connection makes this valve easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning, replacing filter media, or inspection.

TRI-CLOVER 62-174/326 Air Blow Check Valve Features

  • Fail-safe operation – Simple air-to-open, spring-to-close operation prevents product or CIP solution back flow.
  • Easy assembly & disassembly – Tri-Clamp connections permit quick assembly and disassembly for replacing filter media, cleaning, or inspection.
  • Remotely controlled – The supply of air to valve remotely controls the valve.
  • Rugged construction – The standard material is 316 stainless steel. The spherical plug assembly is bonded EPDM rubber.
  • 3-A conformance – For applications requiring a final filtering of air prior to entering a tank or pipelines, the valve conforms to 3-A accepted practices.

TRI-CLOVER 62-174/326 Air Blow Check Valve Applications

Alfa Laval’s Tri-Clover® 62-174/326 air blow check valves are designed to perform two main functions:

  1. To evacuate lines of product or CIP solution
  2. For air agitation of product in tanks and other vessels to thoroughly mix and blend the product

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Filtered air enters the adapter (A) and exerts pressure on the valve plug assembly (B), causing it to move forward and unseat. The filtered air passes through the valve and around the valve plug assembly (B), entering the pipeline or tank.

When the air pressure entering the adapter (A) is shut off, the valve plug assembly is returned to its normally closed position by return spring, preventing any product or CIP solution back flow.

STANDARD DESIGN

The air blow check valve can be used in any position: horizontal or vertical. The valve can be used for product agitation in tanks or other vessels by using a Tri-Clamp, gasket, and mounting ferrule. No other fittings are required.

To use the air blow check valve to evacuate the lines of product or CIP solution, it’s recommended to clamp it on the end of the “Y” branch of a ball check valve, rather than install it in the line.
