Sandpiper’s Metallic AODD Pump, Heavy Duty Flap Valve Pump, the HDF3 & HDF4

Sandpiper’s Metallic AODD Pump, the HDF3 & HDF4, are heavy-duty flap valve pumps that have been proven to be a solution to common challenges in sump applications, mine dewatering and liquid applications involving solids. These pumps are recommended for abrasive slurries, suspended and non-suspended solids and up to ¾” line-size solids. These pumps are part of Sandpiper’s Evolution Portfolio, which improves and optimizes the capabilities of the pump. The pumps are thick-walled and constructed of Sand-Casted Aluminum, Cast Iron and Stainless Steel with elastomer and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) diaphragms and check valves.

Some of the features of the AODD Pump highlight the advantages of the pump in its industrial applications;

  • Bottom discharge porting:
    Preventing settling solids from damaging the diaphragm and shortening the pump’s life.
  • As part of Sandpiper’s Evolution Portfolio, these efficient pumps experienced a 19% flow rate increase, with a new maximum flow rate of up to 310 gpm (1,173 lpm).
  • Flap check valve pumps:
    A large flow area allows line-size solids to pass directly through the pump.
  • Suction lift advantage:
    Sandpiper’s flap valve design provides superior suction lift capabilities up to 24 feet in water. Diaphragm placement and flap valve seating combine to create a unit capable of suction lifts 15% greater than ball valve pumps.
