How the Alfa Laval LKHPF High Pressure Pump Operates
All product contact components including the pump casing, impeller, impeller nut and backplate are manufactured from W 1.4404 (AISI 316L) stainless steel. The motor is protected by a stainless steel shroud and the pump assembly is supported by four adjustable stainless steel legs.
A compression coupling connects the stub shaft to the motor shaft, ensuring precise alignment and stable operation. The semi open impeller with a specially designed vane geometry provides efficient yet gentle product handling.
The LKHPF is supplied as standard with an internal single mechanical shaft seal, with an option for a flushed shaft seal. The flushed version incorporates a durable lip seal as the secondary seal. The front loading shaft seal design allows fast, easy and cost effective maintenance, with seal replacement typically completed within minutes.
Its balanced seal design reduces the risk of seal opening during unexpected pressure surges. Combined with a heavy duty pump casing, reinforced backplate, high pressure internal seals and multiple heavy duty studs, the LKHPF is built to withstand very high inlet pressures.
Q1: What is the Alfa Laval LKHPF pump?
The LKHPF is a high pressure centrifugal pump designed for hygienic filtration duties, capable of handling very high inlet pressures while ensuring gentle product treatment.
Q2: How does the LKH Multistage pump differ from LKHPF?
The LKH Multistage pump is designed for extremely high outlet pressures using multiple impellers, while the LKHPF is focused on high inlet pressure and filtration duties.
Q3: What is the LKH Evap pump used for?
The LKH Evap is an evaporator pump, engineered for evaporation processes requiring reliable handling under vacuum and high temperature conditions.
Q4: What is the LKHex pump?
The LKHex pump is a centrifugal pump designed for use in explosive environments, ensuring safe and reliable operation in ATEX-rated areas.
Q5: Is the LKHPF considered a vacuum pump?
While some queries mention “Alfa Laval vacuum pump,” the LKHPF is not a vacuum pump, it is a high pressure centrifugal pump. For vacuum applications, Alfa Laval provides different dedicated solutions.
