The Alfa Laval LKB UltraPure sanitary butterfly valve is designed for reliable on/off flow control in high-purity and hygienic applications. Built on the proven LKB valve platform, it ensures gentle product treatment and dependable performance for low to medium-viscosity fluids. This valve is widely used in biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, food and beverage, personal care and other industries that demand uncompromising product integrity and cleanability.
By combining robust construction, hygienic design and Alfa Laval’s Q-doc documentation package, the LKB UltraPure provides both operational efficiency and complete validation support.
Hygienic Design for High-Purity Applications
Maintains safe and effective flow of low to medium-viscosity fluids.
Minimizes contamination risks with surface finishes as low as Ra < 0.4 µm or EP.
Designed according to ASME BPE, DIN 11850 and ISO 2037 standards.
Dependable Performance
Stem and disc construction reduce flow resistance for gentle product handling.
Advanced seal technology provides thermal stability, chemical resistance and improved durability.
Available in manual and automated configurations, ensuring flexibility across different processing needs.
Cost-Effective and Easy Maintenance
Competitively priced alternative to diaphragm valves.
Only one worn part requires replacement at service intervals, simplifying maintenance.
Quick inline mounting saves both time and installation costs.
Documentation Transparency – Q-doc Package
Each valve is supplied with Alfa Laval Q-doc, covering:
Material certificates and traceability
Manufacturing and quality procedures
Equipment manuals and service information
This ensures compliance with Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and smooths the validation process.
The LKB UltraPure is available in both manual and automatic versions:
Manual Operation:
Operated with a quarter-turn handle, available in two-position, four-position, regulating 90°, or lockable multi-position. A mechanical lock ensures the valve stays securely open or closed.
Automatic Operation:
Equipped with a pneumatic actuator, the valve disc rotates 90° to open or close the flow. Actuators are available in three standard types: Normally Closed (NC), Normally Open (NO), and Air/Air Activated (A/A).
This design provides flexibility for hygienic processing lines and integrates seamlessly with Alfa Laval ThinkTop valve sensing and control units.
