Flowserve HPX-Mag API Process Pump designed for efficient industrial applications.Flowserve HPX-Mag API Process Pump

The HPX-Mag sealless pump is designed on the renowned Flowserve HPX API 610 process pump. This horizontal, overhung, single-stage, radially split, end-suction, top-discharge, centerline-mounted pump features high-efficiency magnetic coupling. Commonly used in the oil and gas and hydrocarbon industries, it provides excellent leakage prevention and can withstand high pressures, temperatures, and hostile/toxic fluids. The HPX-Mag magnetic drive pump meets API 685 requirements.

High-efficiency magnetic coupling drives the horizontal, overhung, single-stage, radially split, end-suction, top-discharge, centerline-placed HPX-Mag pump.

HPX-Mag API Process Pump Applications

  1. Petroleum production, distribution and refining
  2. Petrochemical and chemical processing
  3. Difficult-to-seal liquids
  4. Toxic, aggressive or flammable liquids
  5. High-temperature applications
  6. Gas industry services
  7. Biofuels
  8. Boiler circulation
  9. Power plants
  10. General industrial

Based on the established hydraulic design of the Flowserve HPX API 610 pump, it offers the following performance-boosting characteristics:

  • Robust construction meets or exceeds API 685 criteria, ensuring zero emissions in challenging-to-seal, poisonous, aggressive, or flammable liquids.
  • Hermetically sealed design eliminates external flushing systems and mechanical seals.
  • Dynamic thrust balancing provides smooth operation over a large flow range and limits vibration.
  • Raised mean time between maintenance (MTBM) lowers maintenance costs and downtime.
  • Back-pullout design reduces labor expenses and simplifies maintenance operations.
  • Thorough hydraulic coverage enables perfect selection for maximum running efficiency.
  • Parts interchangeability with HPX API 610 reduces parts inventory and carrying costs.

Operating parameters:

  • API 685 2nd edition
  • Flows to: 1000 m³/h
  • Heads to: 300 m
  • Pressures to: 42 barg MAWP
  • Temperatures: 29°C to 300°C (84°F to 572°F)
  • Viscosity: 0.2 to 300 cP
  • Sizes: 1 to 6 in discharge; 7 to 15 in impeller
  • Pressure class: ASME #300

HPX-Mag API Process Pump Benefits

  1. Internal flushing uses process fluid to cool the magnet and lubricate the sleeve bearings; external flushing plans are available upon request.
  2. Alloy C4 containment shell provides excellent corrosion resistance; ceramic ZrO? shell option offers zero-eddy current loss. Both are fully drainable and self-venting.
  3. Silicon carbide (SiC) radial and thrust bearings accommodate high-temperature expansion; optional materials available.
  4. Rare earth samarium-cobalt magnets deliver high torque and slip-free performance at elevated temperatures.
  5. Backup regenerative rings protect the shell and prevent leaks in failure events.
  6. Consolidated hydraulic design shares casing and impeller with the HPX API 610.
  7. Back-pullout design simplifies maintenance without disturbing motor or piping.
  8. Centerline-supported casing withstands nozzle loads beyond API 685 standards; guiding vane reduces NPSH dependency.
  9. Dynamically balanced impeller reduces vibration and ensures smooth operation.
  10. Renewable wear rings lower replacement costs; secured with set screws or tack welds.
